I put 2 512 memory cards in my comp last week, and it didnt like it. It would lose the internet after being on about 5 minutes and then within 5 more the comp would randomly turn off. Not restart, but shut clean off like someone cut the power. Taking advise I got last week I took them out and put the 2 256 meg cards I had back into the comp. It completely solved the shutting off problem, even though I now have a gig of memory that is going to sit in a box in a drawer forever.
For some mystical reason the computer cant hold the internet. I know for a 100% fact its NOT the modem, its NOT the hub (we have 3 comps on it, the problem comp would lose the internet and the other 2 wouldnt ), and its NOT my ISP. I tried putting the problem comp into all the different slots on the hub and I came up with the same result.... 3-30 mins of internet and then it would randomly disconnect. It NEVER once did this before the problem with the memory... and Ive never heard of this happening. The only thing that solves it is to restart the comp, and that gives me another 3-30 mins befire it disconnects.
Im at a total loss. Also, I removed the network and reset up a new network connection... it lasted 23 mins and down went the internet.
