All slices are caused by open club faces and you already know this. The most common reason is due to your hips rotating exactly when your arms/hands are accelerating through the impact area. The turning of the hips at the wrong time decelerates your arms thus causing an open club face. Swinging your arms faster without holding your right hip from rotating will only continue the problem.
01. Back swing inside and around your waist
02. Before back swing slightly rotate your hips to the right and work on holding them in that position.
03. The best way to explain this is to turn your lower body (hips) to the point to where they would be at the top of your backswing BUT YOU DO THIS AT THE ADDRESS POSITION-NOT DURING THE SWING. Your arms and shoulders then follow around your waist until they are positioned in line with the hips.
04 Throw your arms down and through while holding your hips until the arms pull the hips, not the other way around. As you accelerate through the swing make sure to turn the left shoulder blade slightly to the left so you're square. Your hips will follow by centrifugal force.
05 No Wrist break on the downswing. If you must pronate or break your wrists then do it after impact, never before.
06 The swing is the same from the put to the drive, no difference. When practicing, swing a few 8 irons then make the same 8 iron swing with the driver.
One last thought. You don't need to drive the ball 280 yards to play scratch golf. You know as well as I do it's the short game that makes the score. Playing for score may mean a 3 wood off the tee. Keep track of your short game shots (all shots within 50 yards of the green) Reducing the number of short game strokes may very well put you below par.
REGARDLESS OF SWING ALL GOOD GOLFERS HAVE TIGHT WRISTS AT IMPACT.
