Newbie too! Glad to have found this, and have a question...

Hello, all. I'm a survivor actively working through my trauma issues as well as a counselor in training. I had no idea a forum such as this existed. I'm psyched to have found it - I sometimes feel very lonely in my classes, wondering if I'm the only student who has personal experience with some of the tragic things we discuss.

I actually stumbled across this forum while searching for something different. I need to ask a mental health professional some questions about his/her career development for a paper I'm writing, and my current social anxiety makes the prospect of questioning a stranger in person seem impossible. So I hope to interview someone via e-mail, and I've been searching online for a place I might find someone willing to be interviewed.

Is there anyone here who'd be willing to answer questions like "How did your training prepare you for your practice?" and "What is your favorite part of your job?" via e-mail? I won't need any identifying information, and the questions are professional, not personal, in nature. Alternately, can anyone recommend to me someone who'd be interested in volunteering for this? If you can help me with this, you can contact me at mooon.and.yew.tree@gmail.com .

Regardless of whether anyone volunteers to be my interview subject, I'm happy to be here and I look forward to posting and reading more.
