I have the same fear, but have developed a way of coping with it that works for me. I have a peer supervisor, with whom I have worked for about 5 years. He is actually my best friend as well as a peer supervisor. When I don't have supervision in which I feel safe sharing that I'm a survivor (and actually, that's been typical for me), I depend on him to check to see if my issues are getting in my way as a therapist. With clients that I see particular parallels or potential that my stuff will be relevant, I'll alert him right away to what is going on. This system has worked well, and given me a great deal of peace of mind around these issues.
