Hi fritzP and welcome! (and a chuckle at your user name... I'm sure the original Fritz P should be flattered!)
This is interesting stuff and has extra personal relevance for me as I am just about to start memory processing in therapy using EFT and trying to keep my rational skepticism in it's place.
There must be so much more still to be discovered about mind / body / emotion connections dont you think? Eastern cultures in general may recognize and utilize these connections better than our western culture where the concept of mind & consciousness has too often been restricted to the study of neuro-electrical activity, and the concept of emotion reduced to the science of neurochemistry. (I mean to me this seems such an impoverished explanation for the mystery of thought and feeling and the interconnection between these and our physical body) ... and that's just for starters. There is some fascinating research happening on the interelatedness between mind-body & emotion re PTSD but funding for trauma research is miniscule and results difficult to widely publish compared to research which promises big $ value for large pharmaceutical companies (ever read Candace Pert's book "Molecules of Emotion"?) My t attended the Traumatic Stress Conference here (ISTSS) and I was sooo envious, but have found abstracts of the papers online. Let me know if you would like the url and I will hunt through my disorderly multiplicity of bookmarks.
