Here are some ideas I have collected for avoiding professional burnout ...Any others out there ????

1. Make a list of things to do that you have already done.

2. Stand with your back to the door in the elevator and keep smiling at the crowd.

3. Pay your next electricity bill in pennies.

4. Submit your next court-report in Latin. Don't use punctuation.

5. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.

6. Encourage your colleagues to join you in a game of tag.

7. Practice your assertiveness by asking for sprinkles at the drive-through.

8. Sing along at the opera.

9. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.

10. When the money comes out of the ATM, scream "I Won!", "I Won!" ; "3rd time this week!!!"

11. Practice art therapy techniques on the wall, but remember to do it behind the couch.

12. Stare at your in-laws through the tines of a fork and pretend they're in jail.

13. Remember that even Popeye didn't eat his spinach until he absolutely had to.

14. (My favourite of all ...) Bill your doctor for time spent in his waiting room.
