What about...

I was just wondering... Will this new Enterprise be equiped with phaser banks and photon torpedoes so that all we'll get to see is just more killing in space? Is it possible to see some space exploration in the new episodes? Maybe a little brain action instead of shooting aliens action, just for a change?
If it's going to be like the last one with the colored space and the big explosions then to hell with it! Space is black and Star Trek is not only about violence. I really hope I am not the only one with an opinion like that...or am I...
Thanks anyway.

Unless Rick Berman decides to mess up the continuity even more, now. In "The Cage" the NCC-1701 was originally equipped with lasers, and in TOS the Enterprise was not equipped with photon torpedos. They came with refitting after the "five-year" mission was over.

Not true

In response to the last statement. Enterprise 1701 did have photon torpedos in the original series. They were emitted from the underside of the saucer section..usually just glowing balls. The only thing the refit changed was where the torpedos came out of.

Take care.

Torpedoes

Besides, the torpedoes on NX-01 aren't photon. They're still using standard explosives. And the other type of weapon NX-01 has is a automatic projectile weapon. TOS's "The Cage" was never aired on T.V. and Roddenberry stated numerous times that if it wasn't on tv or in a movie, it was not a true part of the trek universe.
