I am very excited about the new series Enterprise. I think it will be a lot of fun to see how they are going to do a pre-Kirk time with the technology we have today versus the technology available to the original series. I take each show on its own merits. The only one I had trouble accepting was TNG because back then in my mind, nothing could compare with original STAR-TREK. After the first season though, I jumped right in.
There is no way all of it is going to fit perfectly since it is just SCIENCE-FICTION! The novels have nothing to do with the series/movies, but I do enjoy them because I love the whole concept of Star-Trek.

I can't watch Enterprise

because I don't get UPN. Paramount is a division of Viacom, and Viacom also owns CBS (which more people get than those who get UPN). They could have put it on CBS, or they could even have put it on one of the other large networks, or they can have the other network one week behind. I would watch Enterprise if I could, but I can't.

Stop worrying!

You'll get Enterprise! You got Voyager, didn't you? If your town doesn't have UPN, UPN will trade one of your local stations, most likely the one that aired Voyager, the rights to air Enterprise for some commercial time during the show. This technique of syndication allows both your local station and UPN to win, because the station shells out no money for the new show, and UPN covers its costs by selling the 8 or so minutes of commercials in the show.

So stop worrying!
