Related Gripe to Post Below- How about a simple "Thank You!!"

I have a related gripe to the one posted below. It really pisses me off to see people here take their time and give their energy to giving thoughtful responses to posts only to have the OP disappear..or worse yet, start another thread without so much as a thank you!! I find this to be VERY rude. Moreover, the responder has no way of knowing if you actually saw their post. Would you really be this rude in real life when someone has taken time out of their day to assist you? No need to answer everyone individually, but what is so hard about the common courtesy of even just saying "Thanks- n/t" at the end of a thread? I don't get it and it seems that there are repeat offenders. Hit and run types as indicated below.
