When looking through a telescope, what can i expect to see of the planets. Say jupiter for example. How big will it appear in the scope and how much detail will I be able to see. I realize that there are different magnifications but I am curious as too how much I will be able to see. I have seen pictures of say from a nexstar 5 telescope and it appeared large with a lot of detail. If I was to get a telescope similar to that will it appear like that in the scope.

Thanks for anybodys help.
