Response to barlow and ETX

Thanks again, Richard. I'm happy to hear that it may just have been me and not the lens. Do you know anything about the ETX-60 and whether or not it's a descent telecope? I actually got to see Saturn and Jupiter using my 4mm lens. Saturn was really small, probably about the same size as one of these characters in the text, but I could clearly make out its rings. Jupiter was small as well and I could see 2 of its bands and 4 small moons. I tell you, it was quite an evening!

In your opinion, do you think my telescope can see deep space objects, such as galaxies and nebulas? Using my 4mm lens, I can push my telescope to about x87.7. Can a barlow lens be used to view deep space objects?

Thank you,
Patrick
