On a good night without the telescope you can see to about -4 and not much better. My backyard is not good for viewing as there is a hospital with permanent lighting to the north, a row of pencil pines that rise 25 to 30 metres (80-100 feet)to the east and my house to the west. This gives me an approximate view of 90 degrees east-west and 120 degrees north-south.
When the 10 inch comes out (soon to have a 22mm Panoptic and 13mm and 9mm Naglers) the views of the major highlights are quite good. Omega Cen and 47 Tuc to name just a few.
However, I am jealous of your location (please include in responce) in that at almost any time in the night, a sky of Inky black can be found.
City living has its merits but you need the country for the blackness of space.
