new 111, first panerai ,have ?

Is it normal for the crown on the 111 to be able to wind a little with the crowm protector closed. And if so how is it water tight. Thanks!

Yes, this is normal

The crown lever applies just a moderate pressure on the stem to ensure the seal is in contact. I would not recommend winding the watch this way as you are wearing the seal.
