Hi guys, I'm new to the world of Panerai but absolutely love the watches. I've been buying and selling watches since 2005.(Can't collect due to lack of funds). Watches owned includes: Tag Heuer Carrera, Breitling Chronomat, Breitling Navi World, Rolex Sub Anniversary, Rolex Daytona Steel, Rolex GMT-MasterII(ceramic bezel)..

Now I want a Panerai!
1. I want one with brown leather strap(preferred)
2. Need to be an investment, if I sell in 3 years time I want to break even / make profit.
3. Does the size matter for reselling? I like 40mm (Since Breitling World more into smaller watches)
But will go for 44mm as well.
4. Don't wanna spend much more than R50 000 ($6900)

Looking forward to your replies!

1. 177 or 176 looks awesome (as do many, many panerais) on brown leather strap.
2. 177 and 176 have held their value well, BUT nothing is guaranteed. Also, you have to buy right, I suggest preowned.
3. YES. 40mm is not as desirable, as 44mm is panerai's signature size (tho some say 47mm is the new 44mm, )
4. entirely possible.

if you need me to pick examples of the collector's market and forward them to you, I will.
Finder's fee = one case of diet coke in glass bottles.
Agreed ?

same as an 88 but case is titanium.
I LOVEd my 233 if you need a gmt. so I would reccomend that one.looks awesome, functions so well, and has a very powerful 8 dyas engine built by panerai.

I have an 88 and a 270 (similar to 233)

Both are amazing, although I must admit the 270 has somethin special.... but the budget required is also higher...

A lovely watch, 1950 case, in house movement. A new to 2009 model, lots of recent discussion. Many good second hand around on the market, should get one for the $s you have. You can get the brown strap aftermarket and spoilt for choice.
