Sixteen years old and it doesn't qualify???? That would piss me off too!

I just heard on the news last night that a lot of the "clunkers" that are being turned in are not being crushed! The dealers are finding loopholes to be able to resell them!! LOL!! So much for that plan!!

i've never owned a new car. i had my chevy lumina (bought when it came off someone's lease) for 18 years. i sold it for $750 when i bought my new used '98 maxima. the kid drove it for 18 months before it finally gave up the ghost.

one of the really negative unintended(?) consequenses of the cash for clunkers program is it's impact on the secondary markets. not only used car sales, but parts and salvage, too.

i hope more and more loopholes are found, especially since it looks like the funding for about half a million more trade-ins just got passed.
