Need help with Maay

I am running an after school program for refugees. Most of them are Somalian-Bantu. They all speak Maay. None of the tutors speak Maay. I am looking for the best way to communicate with them. Where can I learn basic Maay in the Baltimore area? Any help would be great. I thought Maay was only a spoken language, what language are all the messages in?
