In a fleemarket I just became the owner of a Falke model 80 cal 5.5 rifle.
I did not know that I bought a collectors rifle until I Googeled on it.
Q1 What pellets/ammo can be used in the rifle?
Q2 What year is it made?
Q3 What output speed m/s can be expected of the bullet?

The rifle uses 5.5mm lead pellets. Try a variety of them to see which work best.

It was made between about 1952 and 1959.

It will probably produce somewhere between 7 and 10 foot pounds (9.5-13.5 joules), depending on the condition of the internal parts. The speed m/s depends on the weight of the pellets used.

Pics on Falke 80 #21

July 26 2014, 4:44 PM

Hi Gunners
Now I have made some test shots with my Falke 80 #21, cal 5.5. It seems working fine I hit some apples in a tree.
I have taken some photos on my rifle and hopefully you can see them on the link below.
The stock on the rifle is not in mint condition and there are some cracks, a former owner have strenghted it with some Electric tape as you can see.
I canĀ“t find any Falke logos or marks on the stock not even on the back, there is a Z in circles (have anyone found this Before ?) The stock fits perfect to the gun so I still think it is the original one and the wear indicates early 1950s
It has been rewarnished some time. It has no diamond cuttings in the grips.
Could it be that the Company Vapen Depoten in Sweden applied their own low budget stocks?
It would be nice to find a new nice original stock.

Hi Lennart

Thanks for posting those pics. The butt plate is probably a replacement, I think.

Here is an advertisement for Falkes sold by Vapen Depoten:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/642126/thread/1260064020/last-1260064020

But I have never seen a stock with a "V" for "Vapen" as illustrated, or a butt plate with a "Z".

I doubt if it would have been economic for Vapen Depoten to change the stock. The Falke markings most likely disappeared when it was refinished.

You are right, the buttplate is a replacement from Brno Rifles - ZBROJOVKA BRNO,
is/was a firearm manufacturer in Brno, Czechoslovakia.
