...many thanks for posting that information. As you suggest, why would anyone voluntarily proof an air rifle? Except perhaps by mistake? I've heard of a Webley Mk3 (I think it was?) turning up in Australia with proof marks but I think that was some kind of routine import requirement at the time. But in Germany...? Aren't proof marks supposed to show the rifle has passed some sort of pressure test?
The 1952 date for introduction of that mark is intriguing, since apparently that's the first year the Falke underlevers arrived on the market. And this rifle has a serial number which, if they were stamped sequentially, would place it in that year.
