Response to Nikon portraits of wife........ looks like you had it stopped down to about f8 ? Here's an example of that 135mm/f2 DC lens stopped down to f5.6 and the defocus on at 5.6 beheind. Natural light but no manipulation. Dig deep and spring for this lens, you will LOVE it 
BTW, skin tones look PERFECT on your wife !
