Response to I forgot, there is one plus to the Rio...
It's really hard to car shop these days with SO many different options available out there to choose from.
I try as best as I can to research a lot on-line to hopefully help my Wife as she really doesnt have that much time to do so.
As most of you probably already know........ shopping from dealer to dealer isnt the most pleasurable thing to do as there is no such thing as just looking..... you get a salesman who immediately attaches himself to you like a leach and wont let go! This not only takes a lot of time and it's frustrating as well!
NOT saying here that car sales people are bad but as they have to make a living too but I dont like em and when I go to a dealer I/we just like to look and IF there is something we find then we welcome the help.
Pretty much what she has been looking for has been outlined.......price, value and selection! (looks too of course)
My Wife takes EXTREMELY good care of her car/suv or whatever and follows all the regularly scheduled maintenance programs etc and against my opinion she always goes to a Dealer to have things fixed when and if needed! So what I'm trying to get at here is that whatever she ends up buying she WILL take care of it as she plans on keeping it for awhile.
Price obviously is a factor to consider! She is not going out and buying a 30K + car as she feels like I do that spending that kind of money is ridiculous and she does not have that kind of cash to shell out!
Fuel economy of course is a MUST as with all the driving she does and the cost of gas being what it is it costs her a bundle to fill the SUV weekly. Cutting that cost in 1/2 would save her a ton of money.
Looks too are of obvious concern as who wants to be driving around in an "ugly" LOL car!?
The cargo/load space is of a tiny concern as she uses her SUV to buy and load her needed business supplies but it need not be huge.
There is just the 2 of us (no kids/pets etc) and other then the occasional trip to Vegas or Arizona or Northern Ca. we dont need or use the car for hauling camping equipment etc etc.
Lastly but not by any means the most important is re-sale value!
She doesnt want a car that she is going to buy today at X amount of $$s and then down the road sell it for next to nothing.
I guess we/she will just have to continue the search as time permits (she only has 1 1/2 days off a week to look)
Eventually she WILL find just what she is looking for.
