It was in a Ramon lot of 6309 movements that I grabbed for parts.
So far, I have managed to salvage three of the 4...the 4th one had some serious rust and is not restoreable; but it is a good source of parts.
This particular movement is going into a very nice 6309-7290 case that TheTigerUK(John Bentley) sent me. Along with a bunch of orignal parts like dial, hands and chapter ring; this could become my favourite.
The 6319 movement is a step up from the 6309; not only in jewel count but apparently in finish as well. The moment I dropped the balance back in it's home, it started beating instantly and with a very healthy amplitude.
I am absolutely amazed at how easy the reassembly is on these movements; putting on the top plate and a simple tap on the side of the movement settled all the pinions into their respective jewels with no fuss. I've not experienced this before on any watches other than a couple of very well designed Chinese vintage movements; notably the ST-5 and the SM1A-K.
I'm still looking for the 23 jewel 6349 version as I think this would be a very nice upgrade. The 6349 was only put into mid grade dress watches and I have to assume; going by the 6319; that it is finished even nicer.
