the new one is more than capable for all the computers on my side of the firewall. Remember; I am restricted to 'wired' connections.

Wired transmission will always(at least in our life time) be faster than wireless.

If I was single; I would be wireless everything...but I'm not single wink.gif

since I teach at the Panasonic RandD center.....very stimulating talking with my students....one fellow got an award for his patent of a 360degree aerial viewing system to be used in car GPS systems and car surround safety viewing! As engineers continue to explore beyond the fringe of our normal perceptions (ie the lightwave spectrum beyond our narrow retinal capability), more amazing products will appear.

Instead, look at it like this: IF you would have wireless everything, you WOULD be single! I think that sounds better ... wink.gif

Is the missus concerned about the potential health effects, or does she not want a house cluttered with those unsightly radio waves?

Wirelessly,

she is extremely sensitive to RF, ULF and just about everything in between.

She is able to tell you exactly where an AC line is hiding in the wall and she doesn't need an electronic finder!

I worked at Motorola for many years and am fully aware of the dangers of RF radiation so I can appreciate anyone who has the sensitivity to RF or other frequencies sad.gif

I wonder what is unique about her physiology that makes her more sensitive than the rest of us.

Is RF dangerous in general, or only frequencies that cause water molecules to vibrate (e.g. 2.4 GHz)?

sorts of cancers.
Notably when Motorola first came out with the cellphones that preceded the 'flip phones' there was a very high incidence of brain cancer and tumours in frequent users.
The development of the flip phone and a lot of money spent behind the scenes to stifle the controversy pretty much put the whole issue on the back burner.
Unfortunately the problems haven't gone away sad.gif

It has gotten to the point now with WiFi, etc. that the incidences of cancer in the groin area have risen drastically...due to the proximity of laptop computers, Pads and other wireless Internet appliances.
An alarming rate of cancers has appeared in the youngest users of these devices; presumably because many of them are still growing and their metabolisms in a fragile state!

There is lots of research and clinical evidence out there if you want to read it happy.gif
