Thank you Rene~ for giving me cramps wink.gif

No, not because of the fat content; but because my digestive juices are working on nuts n twigs and your picture just shot some degreaser into my system sad.gif

I can still remember the last time I was privileged to have that very same dinner. It was in Dallas or maybe Fort Worth Texas(the restaurant was in a Galleria on the city boundaries).

Chicken fired steak has to be one of the best inventions since BBQ beef(Texas Style) happy.gif

Shut up Peter...before you blow! sad.gif

.... to the Three Sisters Cafe? THAT's where the BEST CFS in the whole world is served !! The steak is as big as that whole plate Rene's is on and they serve ths mashed potatoes in a seperate bowl family style and a seperate bowl (about 6"across" full of the BEST cream gravy in the world all washed down with those HUGE plastic Ice Tea glasses we use down here with sweetened ice tea! They then bring out a BIG bowl full of homeade buttermilk biscuits
and whatever veggie that you want that's on the menu that day! Two of the sisters are dead now, but there children still run the place. I went there when I was in college up at North Texas and went back last year for a reunion of sorts with some friends. STILL the same except that it now doesn't cost $2.25 anymore happy.gif

especially your description of the portions! Could well have been where I had that notable repast happy.gif

It was a while ago since I was there and I did get to sample a lot of the local restaurants.

My favourite Tex Mex place was called Mercado Juarez(I think that's how it was spelled).
