Watch sold. Thank you AWF. 13 May 2012.
For sale: Grand Seiko 40th Anniversary (of quartz technology) Model (2009). No. 234 of 500. Has the specially-selected/tweaked thermocompensated 9F83 movement that delivers ± 5 seconds per year accuracy as per Seiko specifications. This specimen has been timed for 13 weeks on the wrist and 13 weeks off the wrist with the results: (a) 3.11 seconds per year on the wrist; (b) 3.48 seconds per year off the wrist. This limited-edition model can be returned to the Seiko factory for a no-charge check-up and adjustment, if needed, in its 3rd year of life. It is now at the 1.33-year point, and thus could be sent for the free check in December, 2012, if this were desired. Actually, the watch shows no need for any adjustment, but a free battery change would very likely be performed by Seiko at the same time.
The case is 37.0 mm. in diameter and 9.9 mm. thick. The watch weighs 134 g. Stainless steel; 10 ATM waterproof rating.
Watch is in near-new condition, having been worn for only 13 weeks. There are next-to-no marks of any kind on the case and bezel, and only a few very minor, shallow scratches on the bracelet.
The picture is pretty accurate, although the quartz logos on the dial are more golden like the minute markers and the "Quartz" lettering appearing below "Grand Seiko."
Originally sold at a MSRP of 262,500 JPY (about $3250 USD), but now, of course, long out of stock (with only 500 made). Price (Reduced April 29): $1700 USD (PayPal will work), which includes shipping to anywhere in North America. For other international destinations, PM me, and I'll look up the shipping rate and make any necessary adjustment to the price.
