FYI

My "ole man" Carroll Ray's birthday was Sunday, the 4th and he turned 65. Willie called to wish him a happy birthday saying she was a representative from the "scooter" store. (you know the electric scooters that all the "old" people ride on to go places?) He got a big kick out of that.

They also surprised him at his workplace on Monday with two cakes and lots of cards and well wishes, and a gift certificate to a local eating place in Johnson City. (Isn't it so unreal (surreal, is that the word they use today?) that we are actually looking at retirement and being layed back? I just don't see it myself.

That night, after he went to bed, I layed his medicare card out on the dresser for him to see first thing the next morning getting ready for work. He has decided to work one more year and retire next June of 2009. He sure comes home tired (braindead),LOL, sometimes.

What will I ever do with him when he does decide to retire, go to work part time myself? May have to......................I am thinking ahead!

Not been on the forum in a couple weeks, been busy with babysitting, and ballgames, etc.

Been reading all the posts and the only thing I do know about the Mullins' is that they come from the Mulunjuns. (sp) Don't know very much about the Baker or the Farmer clan either. I do have a family tree on a big roll out sheet my oldest son had to do at King College about 20 years ago. I may get energetic and go looking for that thing and see where I came from, lol.

Sounds as if everyone is doing well...I am like Connie, I have also been mowing the lawn and watching the flowers grow and the trees turning green, and also the green pollen dust that gathers on the cars outdoors, it is yucky looking, am waiting for it to disappear before I uncover my deck furniture and clean all for the summer.

Getting a nice steady rain and has been doing that for hours now. Real good for our yards. Had not had any rain for over a week or more.

Everyone take care and keep posting.............. G
