American Dies of Alcohol Poisoning in Bali

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: One american died of methanol-tampered traditional alcoholic drink in Bali on Monday (1/6), adding the total number of victims of the tampered drink to 23 in over a week. Head of Forensic of Sanglah Hospital Ida Bagus Alit said a female American, Rose Jhonson, 48, died on Monday after being treated at the hospital since Saturday.
She is the second foreign victim after briton Alan Colen, 59, died at the hospital on Saturday after being treated for one day. Ida said blood and stomach content sample from the victim have been sent to Indonesia Police. The hospital said it had been coordinating with police and US consulate.
Chief of the Crime and Detective Unit of Bali Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Wilmar Marpaung said the latest victim brought the total number of victims to 23.
The hospital said 51 people have been treated in the hospital for alcohol poisoning since Monday (25/5).

That's the week I was there, going native in Indonesia is not my cup of booze. There are very tight and oft changing laws regarding alcohol, thus lots of homebrew stuff created and without access to good ingrediants.
