Oshawa will do better than that against COW; anyone who saw the game knew they played them hard last time, despite what COW watchers would have you believe.

The score against Clarington was not indication as the boys were entirely psyched out.

No way Quinte beats Barrie. They are at NC on Saturday then overnight in Barrie and don't play until 4 pm. It will be a surprise if they can keep it close. NC over Kingston may happen. They are also overnight with Barrie on Saturday and don't play NC until 5 pm Sunday. Looks like a tough weekend for them.

Why do teams let games get scheduled like that? If you play in Barrie on Sat then late in NC or wherever you might as well have gone home and make a trip to NC on another weekend.

Last year Quinte did that and it was a bad game against Barrie

Clarington has had 5 players with H1N1 so far, all in the last two weeks. Others have colds which is typical. Notwithstanding the well publicized tragic cases, all the families report that their children have been sicker before H1N1 so it is not necessarily as bad as suggested. It's just another illness that teams and players will have to deal with in other seasons.

All teams are dealing with the same thing, not just Clarington; and it is not necessarily H1N1, as they are no longer doing the bloodwork to verify it. This strain of the flu will primarily be devastating only to children and adults under 65 that have previous medical conditions, whereas their immune system can be compromised. Healthy children and adults need not worry, as will act out as the Flu does any other year.

That's nice Berrie parents, you are the calss of the ETA. It is so funny how people talk like this on here. You guys are scared shitless to open your mouths when these people you are trashing are standing right in front of you. That says alot about yourselves, hide behind your computers and your kids, nice!! Yes you guys have a good team but your coaches and the parents are the joke of the ETA. Every team laughs at you. You guys will win nothing. When parents and coaches behave like you, all you do is make yourselves look like idiots living through your kids. Don't get me wrong there are a few good people up there, oh and they make fun of you too mostly you track pants guy.
By the way it wasn't Quinte runnung at you guys, it was the other way around and a few poor guys got hurt but that's what you get. Another year or two you will be an average team. Mark my words. It will be so nice when we beat you and guess what, we won't say a word. Not even on here we will just get a huge kick out of all the people who will do it for us.

Look at Clarington they may very well be the best team in 98 ETA one of the top teams in the province and better than you. That team is class, They have everyones respect and will keep it. You should take some lessons on how to behave or it won't be very fun for you in the future all this crap is going to come back on you 10 fold.

What game were you watching goof?

Quinte showed real class by running our goalie, kicking a player in the corner and slashing another while his glove was off nearly breaking his hand when the game was out of reach. I'd rather have our coaches try and protect our players than send them out there to hurt someone. The refs should have never let it get to that point.

Haven't played NCP this season but, as a Whitby parent, I can tell you about the goonery that Quinte employs.

-Skating around the opponent's net when they're doing their cheer.
-Hands and elbows up head shots
-Captain slashing at a player at the end of the game.

All of this shows a lack of class and lack of character. I've seen it before...fast track to men's league.

Quinte was a much better hockey team last season when they actually played hockey. I wonder what the root cause of this is? Bad apple harvest? What gives?

We (Kingston) played NC last night, no drama to report. Also, the 3G thing earlier in this thread is BS. We have our share of internal crap to deal with, show me a team that doesn't. There maybe a small shift in coaching that will help, I hope. We lost to Barrie 6-4 on Saturday but played quite well. No drama to report there either, sorry.

Sure has, maybe you should see who's on the ice during practices lately. The kids are responding nicely and the practices have improved vastly. The head coach hasn't changed and the kids like him. The help has though, and for the better.

Why all the bashing of Quinte. I don't see them as goons and they have only lost two games.

They were beating us on the weekend by a score of 6-0 after one period. They cycled the puck and took far fewer shots in the second and third and the final score was 7-1. They are a physical team with some very talented players. Good for them.

Cancer dad had his son quit the team so he can pout back in Port Perry. Our team will be better for it because we don't need that crap around the rink. The boys came out and played a great game against Quinte and got a well deserved win over a pretty darn good team. Way to go Wolves.

It doesn't make sense. But if you knew dad, you would know how he thinks and how he believes his kid is better than he is. He is a good player, just not the next Gretzky. It is a big disappointment all around to the kids when something like this happens. Anyhow, it has and it is time to get over it and move forward which we are doing nicely. Great kids, great coaches, great parents.

Definitely agree Clarington is not only the class of the East but the entire ETA over the last 3 seasons. Clarington losing to London in the 1/4 finals of the Shanahan is a surprise, but I really believe the weaker competition in the ETA east hurts a team of this calibre at the end of the day. At least Markham,YSE,and Barrie have each other to play on a regular basis in the West; but saying this the ETA is definitely the weakest AAA loop of them all at this 1998 age group.

10:18 is not a Clarington parent. We realize that we have a good team as do other centres in our league. We certainly don't think we a way better than anyone else. The pot stirrer can go elsewhere. By the way, we also realize that whenever Whitby and Clarington play it is a tough battle. Looking forward to a good game tonight.

I am a Clarington parent and was at the recent Whitby game. Game was closer than expected. I think we were the more dominate team but not nearly by the margin we usually are. In fact we only scored two goals. Whitby scored the other on themselves. I think that's the fewest goals we have scored on Whitby in regular season play ever! Whitby had to play hard to keep it close and they did.

Whats your point? Isn't that the yr Welland took Gold away from Clarington and Clarington finished with a Bronze. Last yr at the omha's, Welland repeated as Gold Champions, with Clarington not winning a game for the tournament. What is with Clarington no longer able to beat anybody of any significance, other than the lowly ETA. And as 5 ties are showing, not winning all the time in their own league any longer too.

Markham's defense is weaker than last year. They lost their best one and gained the kid from Whitby who is ok at best.

As a parent "NOT" from Markham or SCC, I see on this site that there is alot of anomosity and jealousy between these two teams. It seems to circle around the " D " !!!! Who cares if this kid left the team, it happens to alot of the teams. The parents of this child probably had their reasons for leaving in which you all are speculating about. Let it go, It seems to be alot of cheap talk between some of the parents! But then again some parents make this site all about badgering and bashing other people's kids. To me its all jealousy because you all think your kid is better.

A couple of things… to the “NOT A PARENT of this or that” – sure, whatever you say. There is NO animosity and you are TRYING to stir the pot. SCC and Markham actually get a long VERY well and enjoy playing against each other. SCC and Markham are all okay. Many parents are friends as are the kids. Sorry to disappoint you.

The parent who left Markham is NOT stirring up any “Shite” are you Irish?

There was one compliment made about the D and now everyone is bashing him? The statement was that he was “Markham’s best D” (just one person’s opinion), NOT that he was the best D ever to play.

Stop twisting what you are reading around to try and make trouble for people.
It is disgusting the way children are talked about on these sites. Try to put the shoe on your foot—would it be nice to hear about what a so and so YOUR kid is? Have some decency.

The game between Clarington & Oshawa was a sham. Unfortunately, Oshawa was hit with sickness & suspensions which left them with only 9 skaters & 2 goalies. 3 of the 9 skaters were also sick & had no business being at the rink. As a result, Clarington agreed to replay the game at a later date. However, the refs intervened & forced the game to be played or else the Oshawa coach would receive a 1 year suspension (as per the OMHA rule book). With the H1N1 scare, you would think some common sense would prevail. As a result, the game was a complete blowout. You would have thought the Oshawa coach or manager would have known who was suspended & how many were sick before hand & made arrangements to have the game postponed in advance.

Sounds like a Petes parent complaining about PIMS in Barrie. Well play cleaner and you won't sit in the penalty box. Funny how your team always has an excuse for not winning. This time it is the refs fault, well when you only score 1 goal it is tough to win a lot of games.

LOSERS!!!!! Face it your team isn't as strong as you seem to think it is.

By the way, was that 3 out of a possible 4 points that COW took off of Quinte last week? I don't think Quinte's hold on 2nd will last too long?

The Quinte/COW game was a good game except for some questionable calls from the refs for both sides. This type of reffing causes problems and the game can quickly get out of hand. Kids looked like they were enjoying themselves.

There was a COW player tripping the Quinte players as they left the arena for the pregame warm-up. The same player was ejected for a hit from behind in the game.

Two more matches between these teams should be entertaining.

YSE coach got dumped from another organization...........truth is that YSE coach was the GM for the Stouffville Spirit Junior "A" team and led them to conference final with the acquisitions - did not get along with team ownership and mutually parted ways! Was invited back the following year and declined! To even spout this type of nonsense is incredulous and only done in poor taste - great coaches come and go in Junior A ranks as do GM's - politics are alive and well at all levels and it seems that the parents certainly spout it at the 98 level.

In stating a coach from any team was turfed means what at the end of the day? Stating he was turfed from a non-coaching position means what?

Give your heads a shake - this is the only explanation for a team losing a few games?? Makes you wonder....

So what was the number of the player on COW that was ejected? And because a player gets rejected does that mean that an opposing coach should be swearing at him? 11 year olds do tend to get out of hand from time to time. But, coaches should know better.
