First, welcome -- sorry it's under these circumstances.
I'm a little unclear on the timeline / sequence of events here ... can you confirm that he currently has visitation? Is this visitation unsupervised? If it is unsupervised I would (as an immediate stopgap measure) try to have an emergency order made to change it to supervised. With the documentation that you have (CPS investigation/custody removal, confirmation from other kids, and esp. the hospital records) I think you should be able to get that done. I would also see about trying to get the case switched to a new detective. Similar questions I asked Faith... what is the status of the CPS and police investigation? Have there been any motions made through family court to modify the visitation yet? Do you have a lawyer, with experience in family law? Your divorce lawyer may or may not be the best person to handle this... you need a lawyer experienced in abuse cases.
Typically CPS can only do temporary stuff, you need to follow up in court. I'm writing this in a rush, will try to get back to you later with more, but some clarification would help in the meantime. You will want to get all your documentation together if you haven't done so already.
So sorry about all of this...
take care,
b
