I was reading some other posts & one mentioned family/civil court, GAL, & protecting the kids...
I'm confused.
We have 2 cases going on. 1 criminal, 1 family. We go to family next week. The kids have a GAL (I think-I've met nobody but read it on a paper). So, am I supposed to file for a court appointed attny for them? I've heard horror stories how it could start with 1 speaking of abuse, then they could put all kinds of stuff in their heads & we have no control over them meeting the kids in private w/o parent(s). Is that right? All I know is the judge ordered nobody else talk about the s.a. with D. Would that include GAL?
Nothing has really been explained to me as far as court goes & what all to expect. I applied for my attny today.
Am I missing something?
