jessica...i am so sorry for this situation...it's heartbreaking!! however, your son...only 5 yrs old is NOT an offender and i'm appaulled that the agency would pressure you into 'giving him up'...if i may ask, what state you're from?...just curious...how old are the other children?...our girls were only 2 and 4 when disclosure took place and dhs here in michigan really played it down...our son the perpatrator was TWELVE at the time....we ended up having him placed elsewhere because WE wanted it that way...dhs pressured us to keeping him home...it just wasn't possible...
your son needs counseling for sure and the alarms are a great idea too...i slept in our girls room to keep them safe...we do what we have to do...but putting a 5 year old in foster care seems grossly inappropriate to me...
also, we were told that sibling abuse is VERY common...if it happened again, we would've been responsible...
take gentle care of yourself jessica..oh and one more thing...there's a mom who had a similar thing happen with her very young son...if i remember right he was gone from the time he was 5 until 8..i'll try to get a hold of her she'd have excellent adivice i'm sure!!
