I understand that therapist need to be paid for there time.. granted... Im not taking that fact for granted. I suppose my point is what ever happened to civic duty. Is there such a thing in this country? Point... I have reported this crime much to my and my D's inconvienience and discomfort (to put it mildly) Not because anyone is compensating me to do so but because I feel as a member of the commmunity it is MY Duty to alert others as to the dangers of this monster.While I am aware that I have always had the option to "not involve myself due to inconveinience" My stronger feeling is one of protectiveness towards other children. While therapist certainly should be paid for there time the more prominent reason for them being one in the first place should be to help those in need of there services. And as far as I know are madated to report with or without compensation for there time when criminal activites are involved. Our case is Criminal not civil. It is not as if theses are the ONLY cases he deals with and is called on a regular basis to give freely of his time In support of a client who has been victimized. As a human being It would never cross my mind If I were wittnes to something criminal to deny my involvment on the basis that I wasnt being compensated for it.
As far as the palin thing goes, I had no intention of turning this into a political debate or a fact finding mission on the truth or lack of it in her campain. I was simply making reference to a story I read about the subject of victims being charged for rape test kits somewhere way back when. The fact of the matter is. That the price of not doing one on even an imoverished victim is to let the rapist or molester free to roam and much much more future damage done to society. Much much more in the way of human devistation emotional damage.
In light of that a 300.00 test kit is a drop in the bucket.
Didnt mean to cause you such a stir Im just upset at all that it seems to take to even address this issue much less bring a criminal to justice.
