Bella...it is heartbreaking to hear of any child whose been sexually abused! I can relate to Nadia...when our girls disclosed their abuse and torture and it was confirmed by our son, we too were scrutinized! The risk therapist involved was VERY concerned that not one, but FOUR adults lived in our home, myself, husband and two daughters...she said our family's experiance was the worst she'd ever heard in TWENTY yrs of her career!...and she reported us to DHS, even though it had already been reported! Shoot..we blame ourselves initially...it's through ignorance that this is done!
Regarding the 'perverts'...at 13 yrs old, the boy is himself still a child...I would guess he too had been or possibly still is being abused! Sexual abuse is a learned behavior...most perpatrators have been sexually abused...not all, but it's safe to say that the majority have been abused in some way. Of course this is NO excuse for them to act on their impulses...it just gives 'reason' for their behavior.
Lastly, many who face the judicial system are never charged, much less convicted of the abuse...the system is terribly broken! I believe this to be the biggest reason of all for parents to view their child's healing as priorty and leave the 'justice' to GOD. I've seen many parents devastated when their child's perpatrator goes unpunished...this doesn't help the child...or the family progress towards healing...as in so many aspect in life, we should prioritize what's important in csa...focus on healing...
