I am SO sorry. My daughter was about the same age as yours when I found out about the sexual abuse. My ex-husband was arrested on the spot, and it's been a rollercoaster ever since. Just remember no matter how angry you get at him, don't make it sound like you are blaming her. That was/is one of my biggest mistakes. My daughter takes the things I say and misinterprets it on many different levels. I do not in anyway, shape or form blame her, but she thinks that I wish she weren't around so that I could still be married. Also, make sure you all are getting counseling. Sexual abuse does not just affect the child abused, it affects everyone that loves her. Be patient, it will take time, a lot of time, but you will make it. You've done the most important thing, reporting it to the authorities and taking actions to stop it. Good luck. I'm available to talk if you need to.
