I am so sorry to hear that your daughter has to go thru something so horrible. Please encourage her to report this. Tell her how proud you are of her for telling you. She is very brave! Tell her that she may save another child from having to endure abuse. Abusers usually always have more than one victim. She would not want this to happen to any other child, I am sure.
Get yourself into counseling. Mothers can feel like a secondary victim. Keep him away from her! She can't begin to heal if she has to see or talk to him. My daughter finally began to heal when we kicked our adult son out of our lives. She no longer has to see him or talk to him. Abusers are very good at manipulating the victim; so she is in danger as long as he is in her life!
You can contact RAINN online and they can help you find some resources in your community. Please come back and allow us to support you.
Take Care, Laura
