I iwll start by showing the only 2 WWI builds to date. A pair of Camels from the Eduard's dual pack.

For this build I will be doing the WNW Albatros D.Va. Picked up the WNW aftermarket decals and will be doing aircraft "D".

I have a couple of things to finish 1st but I am really excited to start this. Already making some plans. Found some real thin wire to work with. The middle one in the pic below is fly tying Ultra Wire. The thinner wire on the left comes from the cord of an old phone charger. The 80 drill bit is for scale.

I have seen many photos of one side of the connect being an eyelet with the cable folded back on itself the wrapped with thin wire and the turnbuckle on the other side. This is a "first draft" of the how I iwll be doing them using the wires above. I need to get the wrap even. Got a jig up in the noggin that might work. The brass tube is Lion Roar .mm tubing. Fore a size ref that section is 1/8" to scale up to a 4" turnbuckle.

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature WWI Aircraft Kits.

  1. This Group Build will run until 31 December, 2011.

  2. Build as many kits as you like.

  3. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

  4. Any markings are acceptable.

  5. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
