Response to Do-228 313 LR ........................Lost Decals and other!

Hi Phil,

Sorry to hear about the decals, maybe a posting on Plane Trading looking for someone who has the Do-228 kit but plans to use aftermarket decals and would be willing to send you the kit decals? Never hurts to ask... I look forward to more pictures of your incredible conversion.

I've found static discharge wicks in 1/72 to be difficult. Stretched sprue is too fragile, I always kept bending and breaking them. I think the finest copper wire works the best, superglued in place. If you do bump it, just bend it back where you want it. Look for this wire in various pieces of old discarded wiring, some of it is very fine, probably around .005" in some cases, maybe a little thicker. Speaker wires are a good source. Once I found a set that had extremely fine wire I cut off a 1-foot section and it will last me a lifetime. It is braided so there is a lot there.

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature WWI Aircraft Kits.

  1. This Group Build will run until 31 December, 2011.

  2. Build as many kits as you like.

  3. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

  4. Any markings are acceptable.

  5. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
