The Revell Canberra, née Frog, was laying in my stash for several years. Whilst busy in the construction of the Airfix one, I realised it could be useful as a test bed for decals.

In the past I had very mixed experiences with Airfix decals: terrible quality on the spitfire IX, excellent on their sabre. Before committing myself to any scheme for my Airfix B(I)8 I had to evaluate whether the kit’s decal were useable or I had better to order a suitable one on the after-market. Hence the idea was to proceed with a speedy construction of the revell kit and use the SAAF decals that were included in the Airfix kit for a test.

Here is the model just completed with a black primer:

I rarely put models on a stand and this was an opportunity to go outside my usual path. Decals proved excellent and the whole modelling job was confined to ten or so hours of cumulated time. The former Frog kit looks good and I must say I enjoyed this short project: it was a good cure against the AMS
Cheers
Luigi
