This one's been making slow progress on my bench for a year now. this group build is the excuse I need to finish it.

The Frog kit is basic and so some extra details were required.

Wheel wells boxed in and a little stretched sprue:

The Frog engine is undernourished, so I've replaced it with one from either an Airfix or Matchbox Hellcat. It looks much better in either case:

Frog provide a ficticious cockpit interior. I added a few extra ficticious details:

The canopy is simply awful. I used the kit one to vacform a new one (just set in place here):

Most of my time was spent on the cowl. It's a really prominent feature on the Vengeance. I cut away the kit parts and added new cowl flaps. The exhaust is a slice from a cotton bud (Q-tip) stem:

The ultimate aim is an RAAF a/c, so the next step will be to enwhiten the tail and wing leading edges.

      Thanks for looking.

    HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature WWI Aircraft Kits.

    1. This Group Build will run until 31 December, 2011.

    2. Build as many kits as you like.

    3. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

    4. Any markings are acceptable.

    5. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
