These are from the early releases of this kit, the camo swirl is hand painted, the wood grain is Citadel flesh and walnut washes applied with a 5/0 brush in multiple layers over a blend of Tamiya acrylics.
Rigged with 1lb tournament monofilment fishing line.

Those planes are beautiful. Attaboy! Adios, Larry.

Field Artillery brings dignity to what otherwise might be merely a vulgar brawl.

I really like your fabric color. The contrast with the wood is spot on.

Nice job!

I enjoyed these , they are not easy builds & they take some time , you need to be patient (particularly with the decals !! Roden decals yeech !!)

The Eastern Express repops of the Roden kits have better decals.

August 3 2012, 8:17 PM

I haven't gotten a Roden lozenge pattern kit built with the Roden decals. I am batting a thousand with the Eastern Express kits. Adios, Larry.

They are lovely little models.

Your hand painting efforts are most excellent. I know that painting things like that sworl pattern is possible, but it's really easy to let the sworls get bigger as you go. You've done a great job keeping them tight.

Cheers,

Andrew

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature WWI Aircraft Kits.

  1. This Group Build will run until 31 December, 2011.

  2. Build as many kits as you like.

  3. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

  4. Any markings are acceptable.

  5. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
