I assure you, I am different. As proof, I offer my Mother's oft quoted response to me: "Oh, Joan, Why do you always have to be so different? Why can't you be like everbody else?" That sums me up - good or bad - but that's the way I've always been treated by everyone else, it seems.
And in one medical library, my boss gave me the supreme compliment when I was going for jury duty: "If I were a defendant in a jury trial, I would want Joan on my jury." (She meant, as I'm sure you know that I go overboard to be ojective and not judge, and that I am full of empathy for the underdog.)
