Hey, gang. Wow-it's been a busy week. Our company went through some major management changes this week (new CEO and Chairman of the Board), and things are just rushing like crazy. I had hoped to get some relaxation this weekend, but I just checked the clock and it's already 9:37 pm on Sunday! So, I'll just find a way to relax next weekend.
I wanted to let you guys know that my friend Jean is doing much better. They took her off the morphine on Friday, and she is very much her old self again. I went to visit again on Saturday and on today I took her outside in the wheel chair for a while. She joked and laughed a lot, which is a good sign. I also realized she's 36, not 38, which only makes this whole cancer thing rougher in my mind. But she's a fighter, and she has a positive attitude. So let's keep our fingers crossed.
On a happier note, I got to see "Best of Show" this weekend. It's a "mockumentary" by Christopher Guest, the man who created "This is Spinal Tap" and "Waiting for Guffman," two of the funniest movies I've ever seen. "Best of Show" was a take-off on dog shows and the people who breed and show dogs. I laughed very hard, but I didn't enjoy it as much as my friend who used to show terriers. (OTOH, she didn't laugh as much at Guffman as I did, having grown up in a small town community theater family.) Anyway, if you want a great laugh, try to check out "Best of Show." (Also, look for Waiting for Guffman and Spinal Tap on video. They are hilarious.)
Anyhoo, I have a bit of stuff to do before bedtime. Just wanted to say hi.
