Pretty much yes, Greece managed to expand it's territory three times as much after 1830, gaining areas settled with non-Greek population.

Greece is not native greek only,
500,000 albanians live around of athens , total 750.000-800.000 Albanians live in the country . also Turks , slav Macedonians and Romans and +1 million non-EU citizen immigrants.

Offical rates say 10.3% immigrant poplation + minorities = %15 non-greek
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greece#Demographics

Greece will be %20 non-greek by 2015
only 6 years later

The problem is that Greeks don't allow immigrants to declare nationality, they refer to the Macedonians as slavophone Greeks, the Vlachs are romanophone Greeks, the Turks are Muslim Greeks etc. 15 is not a big percent, but claiming that there are no minorities when they are 15 percent is another thing.

Interesting posts indeed.

BRAVO TURK_79.

It is veru truth that Greece has conquered much non-greek lands since 1830. A land with many Albanians, Macedonians and Turks as well.

All of the live today in the new teritories of Greece that were renamed Epirus, Macedonia & Thrace.

Actually it was the total opposite if you consider the historic facts, and not the nationalist propaganda point of view.

Greek movements occurred throughout the territory but certain sections archived independence at different times. There are no so called "new territories" when all parts of Greece are historical Greek property.

Regarding the so called "Real Macedonia Map"

There was never a independent sovereign nation state populated by Slavic people calling itself "macedonia" until 1991. Also the territory of FYROM does even comprise the territory of Ancient Macedonia nor does it speak the same language or culture. So seriously what legal claim is there?

Regarding Thrace.

for one. Muslims are a minority.

and two. Why on earth would they want to leave a first world developed nation that gives them more rights than anywhere else to join an undeveloped country with no human rights.

The only place to hear about these so called "calls" are from nationalists in other countries unaffiliated with anything.

Macedonians have been a nation a very long time.

1991 was just when we gained independence from Yugoslavia. Go to USA or Germany and learn the world history - don't learn from the greek educational system because it's so damn wrong.

ahhh Just wondering where were you gonna be in greece was not an EU member.
You would have just olives and salt malakas.

GO TO HELL

That's right, which is why Greece has no problems with its minorities meanwhile Turkey has been at war with them for over 30 years and has oppressed the others.

Sadik Ahmet committed forgery and embezzled money from election funds in his riding, Other MP's throughout Greece were charged for illegal financing those years during anti-corruption laws. I don't know what your nationalist propaganda clan tells you.

The video is an election rally to appoint a new member, and so what. Greece guarantees freedom of speech and is the highest of human rights in all the Balkans.

Just a brief outline of what rights Thrace Muslims get, This law has existed since the liberation of Thrace.

1. a considerable number of free reserved university spots for minority students.

2. auto-representation in parliament in addition to any elected members.

3. Mosques and clerics are state supported and paid.

4. religious courts--- local disputes can be settled by Mufti run religious courts-- no other country in Europe has this.

5. Special religious protection-- example. Polygamy is illegal in national law but Thrace Muslims are allowed to practice it. No other European country does this nor Turkey. EU has even criticized Greece for allowing this.

6. Clerical school are open and supported by the state-- Turkey shut down all Orthodox clerical schools.

7. special minority protection within the community--- Thrace Muslims are 50% of Turkish decent the others are of Bulgarian, Roma, Pomak decent, so Greece will not call the entire Muslim community under one ethnic group because that will not be fair to the other 50%.

How many of these rights does Turkey give its minorities. Turkey has direct confrontation with its minorities. In Thrace Orthodox and Muslim communities live side by side peacefully with no problems, but in Turkey the Greek minority has almost all left to Greece because of human rights abuse.

Ok, so when prior to 1991 were you a nation. I'm talking about an independent sovereign nation of the same people. The people of FYROM are of Slavic decent who came to the Balkans in the 6th century from Volga-Bulgaria (Russia) and settled in the Northern Byzantine Empire were present day Bulgaria and FYROM are located. FYROM does not even comprise the territory of Ancient Macedonia, which is part of the sovereignty of Greece recognized by international law in a historical and modern legal clause.

wrong in YOUR point of view, in according to YOUR idea of what you would LIKE history to be.

True EU membership has its benefits, but Greece has been a non-EU member FAR longer than it has been one. Greece became a first world country prior to entering EU. FYROM though will keep having to work on its economy if it hopes to enter one day and end nationalist propaganda claims towards Greece.

of course, anyone who contradicts YOUR nationalist propaganda point of view is lying right?

Mehmet Emin aga was never a Mufti nor was elected. He had a small group of friends to endorse him and tried to steal government funds that go to religious institutions by forging signatures on documents. That is not an election nor is it legal. It was also the Mufti of Xanthi who discovered this and brought charges. He only paid a fine for impersonation and only served 6 months in prison for financial scandals. Of course Turkish nationalists like you will try to capitalize on this and claim a different story for propaganda purposes. Thrace has 3 Muftis who not only run their religious communities but also run religious courts that can settle local disputes-- no other European countries have this.

In Thrace, Orthodox and Muslim populations live side by side in peace and without incidences. Which is why the only anti-Greek sentiment comes from Turkish nationalist outside of Greece who have nothing to do with Thrace.

In Turkey the Greek minority has almost all left for Greece because of the government oppression and inspired progoms. In Greece the Thrace Muslim population has grown and even many of them who immigrated to Germany in the 1960's are today returning to Greece. Greece goes beyond the basic human rights which is why Greece has no confrontation with its minorities, meanwhile Turkey has been at war with them for over 30 years.

example. Istanbul progom

Mehmet Emin Aga was elected Muftu ..
He elected by Turkish Muslim Minorty

yes, you are right also ..he was not elected mufti by the greek government !

He arrested in 2005 and died in 2006

60,000 Greek citizen Turks' citizenship deleted by the greek government between 1980-2000

you show me some pics about 1954 6-7 september

I can show you a lot of greek barbarsim examples

Cyprus before 1974 (killed thousents Turkish civilians)
Morea rebellion -1821(killed 200,000 Turkish civilians)
Crete Rebellion-1900's(killed 100,000 Turkish civilians)
1921-22 Turkish greek war (Killed thousents Turkish civilians by greek army in western anatolia)
%90 of Turkish mosques ,buildings destroyed by the greeks

The Destruction of Cyprus started in December 1963 with the implementation of the Akritasplan, a plan designed by EOKAand the Greek Cypriot administration to eliminate all Turkish Cypriots from Cyprus overnight before the world could act . Few people could have envisaged such savagery and butchery that was to follow my aim is to show to the world the truth about Cyprus based on factual reports of the time Highlighting the suffering and injustices perpetrated by the Greeks on their neighbours the Turkish Cypriots.

He was endorsed by a group of his friends in a cafe--- how is that a election. Oh and did I mention that it was the Mufti of Xanthi who discovered his scandals and forgeries and filed charges. So blame the Thrace Muslim community that he was arrested, since they were the ones who technically arrested him.

Clerics are government employees and are paid by the state and have to be actually educated in the religion to be a high cleric of any religion in Greece. They are recommended by their fellow clerics and are chosen based on qualification. Not just some random off the street cleric who does not even know the religion to even be a basic cleric, and has just been chosen by a group of his friends. Oh, and the only people who actually cry propaganda about this are nationalist clans outside of Greece who have nothing to do with Thrace.

citizenship laws changed in 1980's that required people to re register themselves in their hometown. But many people living outside of Greece could not register since they were living abroad, but they could register at any time after. Many Thrace Muslims who lived abroad have returned to live in Greece since 2000. This is just more outside nationalist clan propaganda who have nothing to do with Thrace.

Turkey has the worst records of human rights in Europe. A Greek minority of 200,000 went to 5000 after pogroms and oppression also their properties were confiscated and bank accounts frozen. They left for Greece after. Muslims of Thrace have seen their population grow and community prosper because Greece does not have pogroms and they live side by side with Orthodox people peacefully. Most of their Mosques and properties were built upon land donated by Churches and state money. They are loyal to Greece and get more than any other minority group in Europe.

This is quite different from what we see in Turkey who has been at war with its minorities for over 30 years and pogroms, even people who have changed their religion in Turkey are reported to be getting attacked and killed by people.
