I really loved what you had to say about the “Signature of God.” The divine pattern. God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Man is body, mind and soul. Even the mind (according to Freud) is id, ego, superego. Time is measured by past, present, future: space by height, width, depth. Food for thought (which taps into conscious, subconscious, superconcious.)
I couldn’t help but think about the fact that every genuine article in the metaphysical world also has a counterfeit. How much misery do we cause ourselves by chasing after (in our pursuit of fulfillment) what scriptures call the world, the flesh and the devil? (Counterfeit trinity) Or in recent decades: sex, drugs, and rock & roll?
I loved your explanation of dyads being the earmark of gross (lower) relationships—those belonging to our earthly foundation, and the contrast to triads being the earmark of sublime (higher) relationships. This really does put the quotation of Abraham Lincoln about Right triumphing over Might in America into a very meaningful context! And, yes, that is what Andy’s (short) story is about. Even at 16 years old (and earlier), his mind was actively QUESTIONING the assumptions that most tend to take for granted!
Thank you for that wonderful piece, and the insight it gave me into the developing of that unique Kaufman mind that REFUSED to accept the “reality” that others wanted to impose upon him. That perspective on life, that questioning of reality was just one of the many incredible qualities that made Andy “Andy.”
