Since you are going to do that, let me add another thought (or two) on this subject.

I think each of our lives is the SUM TOTAL of all the small (and big) choices we make along the way.

Whether to have one more drink. Whether to get behind the wheel after we’ve had those drinks. Whether to ingest a drug. Whether to say something at a particular moment that is hurtful. Or helpful. Whether to follow our dreams, or to sell out. Whether to do EACH of the little things during each day that will insure success. Whether to have that ice cream sundae. Whether to drop out of school. Whether to listen to our own inner voice, or to what the crowd has to say. And on, and on………..

If free will really IS an illusion, then that is saying: “I’M NOT RESPONSIBLE. I just did what all of the “information” available to me dictated that I HAD to do. If it turned out bad, it’s NOT MY FAULT!

Finally, in my humble opinion, Andy Kaufman is a near perfect example of one who recognized his gift, had a dream, and then consistently made the very difficult choices required to turn that dream into reality.
