I hear rumors that Andy is going to return summer 2002 at the comedy store,June 12th.
Even though it may not be true I'm still going to show up there with my Video Camera.
Maybe he won't really show, maybe it will just be a movie like Andy's wake. The reason I know this is because I know somone who knows somone that knows Bob Zmuda and he said that he seriously thinks Andy will return june 12th,I sure hope he's right.
Hi. I'm trying to find a tape called the Real Andy Kaufman. Holly gave me some advice but I couldn't get through to the web pages. Does anyone have a copy or knows anyone who as it who would be willing to sale it? Thanks.
I only just got a chance to read your response when I posted the Bday thing - I loved it, but didn't respond to it, because I didn't know if you'd even be looking there anymore...
Anyway, you are the queen of the cool posts, and remember to have a great Bday!
I shall now add my ad. (Well, you didn't think there wasn't gonna be an ad, did ya? I gotta add an additional ad!)
I've been involved in this Andy List for a little while now, and it's very fun! There's no pressure to write when you are busy, and the topics get quite interesting. It's a great group of people, led by a wonderful person herself: Miss Rori. Please, if you want to talk about Andy and get some perspectives that you haven't heard before, join up on the list! (We even have some guys -- Don -- hoping to join!)
....to which I'll add my endorsement to the additional ad that was added by Holly. I am becoming a regular reader/appreciater of "Beautiful Dreamer" and would like to congratulate Miss Rori and others for thier exempletive tribute to our hero. And who knows? Maybe one day they'll let me in too!
Meanwhile, if I may be so bold, I'll add one more additional ad:

The above is a "serious" Andy Kaufman research and studies group which endeavors to explore the mind of Andy Kaufman, with the overly ambitious goal of "understanding" that enigma, if that may be possible. We welcome all who are interested. The only requirement is that you appreciate Andy and wish to understand the man and his work. Hope to see you there!
I just wondered what people thought of this interesting habit of Andy's
that he had a toothbrush for each day of the week, except Sunday, when
he didn't brush his teeth.....?
I think most of us females would probably love to kiss Andy, but would anybody
here do it on a Sunday? (OK, maybe at a minute past midnight, when the
"Saturday" brushing wasn't so old, yet!) *_~
OK, forget about kissing for a second...(I know it's hard, once you've
started...)
What about the "toothbrush a day" habit? That's kind of...odd. Do you
suppose he just did it so that people who knew him well would think that
he was, well, a "little weird?" (He strikes me as the type who would
like to keep ~everyone~ guessing, but highly intelligent. He knows darn
well that that's a bunch of nonsense with the toothbrushes.)
I have my odd habits too, which is how I know he knows it's an odd
habit. He almost seems to take pride in it.
Of course, if you have a toothbrush for every day, it gives it plenty of
time to dry, and extends the life of said toothbrush.
Of course, of course, you would have to have a specially built
toothbrush-holder, with a slot for each day...
Maybe he just gets bored easily. But having one for each day is a form of obsessive compulsive behavior. It probably feels safe for him to go in order. Probably none for Sunday because most of those toothbrush holders only have 6 holes.

I find myself thinking over and over upon the sign with the wheelchair speeding down the hill with the alligator at the bottom. I
would like to know where this place is. I believe I see a fiscal opportunity in the making.
Lots of people stand to inheirit money and/or property from people who are older than they are. Some of these older people are in
wheelchairs. If the heirs wish to speed things up a little bit, they can just pay a visit to the hilltop beside alligator swamp, and have a
minor "slip."
And it's not just useful in cases of personal gain - let's say you've always wanted to get rid of that annoying kid on your block who
roller-blades up and down every afternoon, listening to his boombox? I can forsee a problem with skateboards, however, as the
rider can simply bail off, before reaching the alligators.
I love many of the signs, but this one is probably my favorite, because it's so specific.
I wonder if the person in the wheelchair is shouting "Timmy!" as he travels downhill...
I wonder if they ever thought about erecting a fence at the bottom of the hill, before you get to the alligators?
If you are a female Andy Kaufman fan, please read this...

I am looking for a fellow female fan to share long email conversations about him with. I have been very lonely lately since the woman I was formerly conversing with has suddenly gone terribly silent due to illness. Please help mend my broken heart.
I haven't forgotten you! I just wanted to let you know that as I was wrapping up that series of paintings I "fell" into awhile ago, I got inspired (by a dream I had) to try my
hand again, after about ten years, at writing a musical.
This is a one-act, and though it's skeletal at the moment, I can see that it's going to be an updated version of the old "Faustus" message: Be careful what you wish for; you
may get it.
I like the tunes, and am in the process of recording them. The story could use some work.
I feel very pressured, though, what with the painting and the writing. I'm used to a slower paced life. I don't know how one can "feel like they are going to have a heart
attack," but somehow, I do, since I can't seem to tell my inspiration to wait awhile, and come back later when I'm ready. Whew!
So, I haven't been as regular a regular as I would like, but I still love you guys, and of course Andy K., as much as humanly possible! I miss ya!
Don't forget me, and I'll be back the next time I feel I can breathe for a minute!
I read the strings ( as I see that you even allow ~men~ to do ), and REALLY, REALLY enjoyed some of the comments, like Holly's thoughts on not expecting (nor allowing ourselves to be concerned about) our friends and family to ~get~ Kaufman:
>>give up on trying to convince anybody of anything.
Instead, join in on Andy's "secret laugh!" -- the one that HE enjoyed the most!
And this one blew me away:
It is something that can be brought into existence in
many ways, usually out of dark nights of the soul -
though it can come from joy. But when it appears, and
it catches the light, few things are more beautiful.
It shines like crystal yet is much warmer. It emerges
as much from innocence as from experience, provided
that the person who produces it has a tender spirit.
Yet its very existence is frowned upon by many who say
it is only a sign of weakness. I'm really the only
member of my family who would rather feel no shame in
its existence, because I think it is good that it
exists. It may well be the water that nurtures seeds
of love, and it can serve as a testament to a
beautiful work of art, as well as its artist.
It is...a tear...
- Rori
I am VERY serious. What a profound thought!
Hey, at this rate, we may even consider allowing you to vote someday.
All kidding aside, you all have assembled a great group of thinkers, writers, and Andy fans. Congrats!
Yeah, the way things are set up at Topica, I figured an archive that was available to all members - and, as it turns out, others - wouldn't be a problem.
I decided to limit the membership rolls to women to distinguish the list from the many other Andy-related ones on the one hand, and because I'd noticed the extremely sweet and thoughtful comments from female fans elsewhere online.
Perhaps I'll let a few honorary male members join the list sometime...
Then click on "Andy Kaufman Studies and Research Forum"
Don't go to the "Cesspool" by mistake- its a flamethrowing forum for those who wish to goof around. But in the research forum (which has come to be known as the Egghead forum) we love to tackle interesting issues concerning Andy's message, methods, influences, trivia, and everything from Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds to the REM Connection. And we probably haven't even thought of the most interesting ideas yet. That's where you all can help!
Thanks Cori, Holly (whom I've been missing) and the rest.
The entire live concert of "Reveal" concert in Koln, Germany, May 12, 2001. Starts with "The Great Beyond" (from MOTM film soundtrack) and the performance of "Man on the Moon" (#17) is the best I've EVER heard/seen!
