Program as tested in Windows 7, 64/64 bit system compiled with QB64:

Exten$ = "*.TXT"
OPEN "Go.Bat" FOR OUTPUT AS #12
PRINT #12, "Dir /b" + " " + Exten$ + " " + ">" + " " + "DAFILES.TXT"
CLOSE #12
SHELL "cmd /c go.bat"
SHELL "Notepad.Exe" + " " + "DAFILES.TXT"
END
