Well...by Unseen Machine (no login)
I only come here once a week or so as i have noticed a severe decline in posts and questions since QB64 became a real viable alternative (like when Draw first worked). If i see anything i can help with i will of course do my best.
I have not used QB my self in a long time. Qb64 is the future, and in some way so am I. I am a progrmmer, or at least want to be, and QB64 has helped me bridge the gap between learning a completely new language from scratch (C++, i am getting there, but progress is slow) and the language i was all ready familiar with (PDS).
Solitaire, you seriously have to give it a try. Alpha blending, mouseinput, image loading, high res scresns, 32 bit colors, tcp-ip, sound (mp3, ogg, wav and more), no more out of memory reports, custom fonts and a whole lot more...Galleon has made this something really special.
If everyone pitched in a programme focused on specific areas of QB64, and gave instrucions on what it does and how to make it, we could write our own book. Who better too really than the community it was built for, and those that use it? Qb64 allready comes with lots of demo programs and there is an ever expanding collection of qb64 samples at qb64.net
I think you should keep both sites. This one is such a resource and has such history that it would be a shame to see it go, but i would not expect to see a whole lot of traffic on it thanks to 64 bit O/S's.
