A very scrappy game, with the ball in the air far to often, and an inability to dictate the midfield.
McDonald had a poor game in midfield and we were unable to dictate the play.
We worked hard with Porter puting in a good shift and we have added some pace with Phillips and Clark being involved.
Willo came on for a few minutes but was flattened by a two footed high tackle some minutes later resulting in the Leyton player receiving his marching orders.
Simmo had made some good saves as Leyton seemed to have had the better chances and a goal mouth scramble saw Porter toe poke the ball home, being in the right position.
3 points seemed on the cards to add to the 3 earned at Preston,so despite a scrappy and poor game imo we all felt much better.
All we had to do was to retain possession until the whistle blew.
We sat far to deep,a misplaced pass by Monty started a Leyton attack,a foul by Maguire,a free kick into the box,Simmo came for the ball, flapped,no one else could clear, ball in back of net.
We have taken 4 points from a possible 6 away, two home games coming up so all is not lost.
But we could and should be in a much better position.
Something is not right in the defence, perhaps it needs leader such as Morgan.
By it must be frustrating being in Danny's shoes.
We live in hope as always but if we want promotion we have to improve quickly.
