Response to Re: Well?
The last 24 hours will most likely have been a massive shock to many involved around our first team squad. MK Dons was always going to be a very tough match with or without Evans. They now have time to collect their thoughts and move on.
I think one of the most important plus points of our season has been Danny Wilson. He must have had a very tough job getting the team together from yesterdays news to 3pm this afternoon. I think everyone involved has done a fantastic job this season. We were on the floor and a mess a year ago. Wilson must be considered a success in that we are were we are.
The one thing you can not fault our rivals for is their confidence and belief. If we want to step up and see this brilliant club we love achieve one day then we have to perhaps think a little more positively about our team.
If someone had said in August that with 2 games to go we would be in with a shout of second place, we would have all taken that. Well we are in that place. If we can't beat these 2 teams, then perhaps we are not good enough to step up.
BUT.... I think we are going to get automatic promotion.
We have a manager who is not versed in the blades way of bottling it. He is calm and level and this week he will get the players into the right frame of mind for saturday (he has done this all season). People like Morgan and Barlow must also be vital behind the scenes. If you look at the likes of Collins, Quinn, Williamson, Hill, Simonson and Cresswell... these are experienced pro's and strong characters who will stand up and be counted. This is the final straight and it is who has the bottle. Saturday will be huge. It will be nervous. A big crowd and noise will lift the players.
Plenty of times this season, we have lost and responded. Next saturday we will. We will win next saturday and we will win at Exeter.
