It will depend on his replacement

Lets be honest, it is a case of who we replace him with, and how quickly we replace him.

I can see the argument both ways but personally I would have offered him another season on league 1 standard terms. There would be lots of clubs in league 1 who would be glad to have Simmo as their keeper. I think it would have been easier to keep him another year. All I can think is the club must have someone better lined up to release him.

I know very little about Mark Howard. I guess we will see. When Long got his chance, he clearly wasn't ready.
